Why more and more people choose to work as self-employed in 2023!

- We sort out and list both the pros and cons.

Published August 3, 2023

There are many different forms of working as a freelancer or running your own business in Sweden today and where employment through a self-employment company can of course be seen as both by far the easiest and least demanding.

– As self-employed, you simply decide when and how you want to offer your assignments or services – and to what extent!

Test your business ideas

For many self-employed, this form of business is also both a safe and carefree way to be able to test both their entrepreneurship and their business ideas without having to devote time and energy to all the rules and obligations that it inevitably entails to run their own business.

Free yourself from bookkeeping and accounting

Another relief of working through a self-employment company is that you do not have to spend time or expenses to manage the accounting that all entrepreneurs and businesses are obliged to by law. Even if a business may not have any turnover for a certain period of time, you are still obliged to continuously report your (in)activity systematically according to given accounting rules.

– Many self-employed choose to take on individual assignments in addition to, for example, their permanent employment or their studies.

– With Invosy, you have the security of being able to test and develop your business idea, as well as build a customer base and gather important connections – before you make a move and actually start your own business.

What are the alternatives?

In Sweden, there are several different types of companies, all of which are of course adapted to different types of business. For some businesses, it may be best to start a limited company (Aktiebolag) , while for other businesses it may be more functional with the form Sole Proprietorship (Enskild firma).

Self-employed, as a form of business, has in recent years become much more common and established – especially among new or part-time entrepreneurs. In addition, the form Self-employed has become a more popular alternative to Sole Proprietorship – something that depends a lot on the simplicity, the few requirements and the flexibility that this option entails.

A first step to starting your own business

In many cases, a simple and modest Self-employment leads to finding a new and exciting occupation but also to taking the first step on the way to actually starting your own business.

Of course, we want to encourage everyone who is interested in both starting and running their own business to first dare to try their business idea as a self-employed at Invosy. This can of course be done in addition to your regular job or studies; safely and one step at a time. When you then feel that you have gained enough both certainty and experience with your business idea – and that you have both built up a stable clientele and made strong contacts in your field – it immediately becomes a much safer step to make the move to actually start your own business.
